Edmund Lo is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Hong Kong. He is a member of the Turnaround & Restructuring practice. Mr. Lo has more than 10 years of experience in financial advisory, corporate restructuring and recovery. His industry experience includes electronics, manufacturing, trading, investment, retail and real estate.
Mr. Lo has been involved in the sale of a distressed global eyewear group’s assets in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the realisation of the group’s subsidiaries. He has also been involved in managing the factory operations of a failed listed watch retailer in Hong Kong, and the receivership of one of the world’s largest Christmas tree manufacturers with extensive operations in the PRC. In addition, he managed the operations of a global supplier of electronic products in the PRC and has been involved in dealing with the subsidiaries and the sale of the core businesses of one of the world’s largest aluminum extruders.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lo has gained extensive hands-on experience in dealing with issues in relation to employees, suppliers, local customs, tax departments and managing factories in the PRC.
Most recently, Mr. Lo has been managing receiverships over the shares of companies involved in the construction and sale of a residential development, as well as a manufacturer of wood products in the PRC. Furthermore, he has had extensive involvement in the preparation of an independent forensic specialist report for a Hong Kong listed company, whose operations include gold mining and ore processing.
Mr. Lo previously completed a six month secondment at Group Special Assets Management of Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong, assisting the bank with asset recoveries and managing risks in relation to its portfolio of impaired accounts. He was invited by the bank to return for another secondment in the subsequent year to continue assisting the bank with respect to its distressed loans, which he also completed.
Mr. Lo holds a B.Comm. in Accounting from the University of Melbourne. He is a member of the Certified Practising Accountants of CPA Australia. He is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
