Elizabeth Cholis is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in New York City. Ms. Cholis is in the Crisis Communications practice in the Strategic Communications segment.
For more than 15 years, Ms. Cholis has advised clients across industries on crisis preparedness and communications strategy around imminent or breaking issues, including litigation, regulatory scrutiny, government investigations, executive transitions, product recalls, contested mergers and acquisitions, among others.
Prior to joining FTI, Ms. Cholis was a senior vice president and co-head of Ruder Finn’s Corporate Advisory Group, where she provided a broad range of issues planning, litigation support and crisis management services to corporate clients, including Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Bloomberg, Sun Microsystems and BearingPoint.
Prior to joining Ruder Finn, Ms. Cholis was a managing associate at Chlopak, Leonard, Schechter & Associates (CLS), a boutique Washington, DC-based public relations firm. At CLS, Ms. Cholis provided corporate, public affairs and crisis communications counsel to clients including investment banker Frank Quattrone, the Computer & Communications Industry Association, the American Dental Association and Genworth Financial.
Previously, Ms. Cholis was responsible for all public relations surrounding the public policy initiatives at the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA), a national trade association that represents the interests of innovative manufacturers. She also gained broad strategic communications experience at The Hawthorn Group, a Washington, DC-based public relations and public affairs firm.
Ms. Cholis holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University and furthered her International Business studies abroad at Universität Wien in Vienna, Austria. She is proficient in German.
