Jim Polson is a Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting, providing strategic financial communications counsel to clients across a variety of industries and the market cap spectrum.
Jim is a member of the Healthcare/Life Sciences practice, recently working with clients such as Patheon, AngioDynamics, Covance/LabCorp, Sagent Pharmaceuticals, and Alexion, among others. As a result of implementing and managing best practice investor relations programs for his clients, Jim has significant experience leading Board level projects on topics such as strategic message development, investor targeting, corporate governance, valuation analysis, and in-depth perception audits.
In addition, Jim has extensive experience advising his clients on critical shareholder events and communications issues including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, management transitions, shareholder activism, and other crisis communications issues.
Jim joined FTI Consulting as part of the acquisition of Ashton Partners in October 2007. Prior to joining Ashton Partners, Jim’s experience entailed a strong background in the markets and financial analysis. He most recently worked at the Chicago Board of Trade in market regulation, and prior to that worked at Friedman Billings and Ramsey in equity research. Jim graduated from Michigan State University with dual degrees in Economics and Political Science, and also received a M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from DePaul University.
