John Strek specializes in advising and participating in complex corporate reorganizations. Mr. Strek has more than 25 years of experience, including industry expertise in a variety of areas such as manufacturing, restaurants, food processing, retail and media.
Mr. Strek is a recognized leader in the restructuring profession and has been involved in all aspects of financial restructuring as an advisor to financially underperforming and distressed companies, lenders, creditors, corporate boards and equity owners. He has advised on numerous restructuring transactions and has successfully restructured billions of dollars of debt.
Mr. Strek has served as interim management of distressed companies, acted as financial advisor to boards of directors and/or principal shareholders in the purchase or sale of both healthy and underperforming businesses and has assisted clients in the development of strategic and business plans. As a recognized expert, Mr. Strek has lectured on topics related to restructurings and buying and selling companies to various audiences.

Mr. Strek joined FTI Consulting with its acquisition of CDG Group, where he was a Senior Managing Director. Prior to that, he was a Partner in the Corporate Finance practice at Ernst & Young LLP, specializing in providing financial advisory to clients pursuing restructurings, acquisitions, divestitures and capital raising activities.
