Michael Berkin is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in New York. He is a member of the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment. He has over 20 years of experience in restructuring advisory, interim management, litigation support, accounting and audit. Mr. Berkin has extensive experience in the financial service and not-for-profit sectors.
Mr. Berkin is an experienced financial advisor who assists clients with reviewing and developing reorganization and business plans, valuing complex business assets, performing forensic financial investigations and providing litigation support.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Berkin was a Director at Goldin Associates, where he supported numerous companies, Trustees, Examiners and lenders in bankruptcy, turnarounds and litigation. Before this, he was a Managing Director at a restructuring advisory boutique where his responsibilities included assisting creditors to evaluate strategic, operating and restructuring plans, analyzing claims and developing proposals to maximize creditor recoveries.
Mr. Berkin holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Rochester and an M.B.A. from Rutgers University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor and a Certified Valuation Analyst. Mr. Berkin is a member of the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.
