Michael Jaspers is a Managing Director in the Construction, Environmental & Government Contracts Solutions (CEGCS) practice of FTI Consulting and is based in Atlanta. Mr. Jaspers has more than thirty years of experience in the construction industry and he is a civil engineer with extensive experience in construction management, scheduling and dispute resolution.
Mr. Jaspers has been involved in many construction projects providing various levels of consulting services for owners, general contractors, construction managers, developers and designers. He has hands on experience with heavy/civil construction projects. His background includes skills in numerous construction-related services including project management, scheduling, estimating, project advisory, risk management, project monitoring, claims analysis, review and interpretation of contracts, plans and specifications, construction means and methods, evaluation of project delay/acceleration and impact, analysis of resources and productivity, and quantification of damages.
Mr. Jaspers has provided analysis for various types of projects including engineer, procure and construction, and design-build and design-bid-build projects. He has evaluated design-build contracts and design and construction schedules; provided periodic schedule update/progress evaluations; provided productivity evaluations; evaluated construction means and methods; and analyzed labor efficiency in process piping, concrete, steel, earthwork and pipeline construction projects.
Mr. Jaspers has produced analyses for projects in various segments of the construction industry including: Transportation-Highways/Bridges/Rail/Airports; Dams/Reservoirs/Landfill; Pipeline/Tunnel; Power Generation; Condominiums/Hotel/Performing Arts Centers; Water/Waste Water Treatment Plants; Industrial/Piping; Hospital/Institutional/Commercial. He has performed retrospective scheduling analysis, evaluation of delay/acceleration and quantification of damages, manpower/labor inefficiency. He has testified as an expert witness in legal venues and presented his expert opinions at mediation and settlement conferences.
Mr. Jaspers began his career in the construction industry with Traylor Brothers, a large construction company. Mr. Jaspers obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Purdue University, is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
