Nathan Zebrowski is a Managing Director in the Network Industries Strategies group of the Economic Consulting segment, located in McLean, VA. He provides financial and economic consulting services to the transportation and energy industries.
Mr. Zebrowski's work includes pricing strategy in regulated markets; competitive assessments and valuations for transportation assets, services, and systems; contract evaluation, negotiation support, regulatory risk assessment, and damages determinations; litigation and expert witness testimony; M&A related analysis and support; and operational, capital investment, and cost studies.
Mr. Zebrowski’s work combines economic and statistical training with deep industry expertise and project experience. Since joining FTI Consulting in 2011, he has been extensively involved in major engagements for freight railroad, pipeline and other transportation and energy clients.
Much of Mr. Zebrowski’s work involves evaluating and supporting his clients’ key commercial and contractual relationships. For carriers facing regulatory challenges, he has frequently developed complex evidence successfully defending their rates and services. In the contract negotiation and business expansion environments, he creates innovative cost and pricing models providing critical operational and market insights to maximize franchise value.
When potential disputes arise, Mr. Zebrowski performs broad-ranging analyses assessing litigation risks and rewards with a view on optimizing lifecycle contract value. He develops powerful expert witness economic evidence that consistently outperforms opponents and fits into winning litigation strategies. In recent years, he has participated in many of the most notable and successful cases in the transportation industry on behalf of carriers and stays involved in securing their most important victories. He also specializes in damages determinations related to the breach of transportation contracts.
Mr. Zebrowski frequently works with transportation companies in states of transition to maximize the value of their network assets. His work related to mergers and other potential transactions includes competitive market assessments, quantifying cost synergies, due diligence support and fair market valuations.
In Mr. Zebrowski's work assessing economic value for network enterprises, he is informed by an intimate knowledge of the fundamental economics related to long-lived network assets, the unique realities affecting network operations and the highly individualized nature of the regional and commodity markets in which network businesses participate.
On a practical level, Mr. Zebrowski's work offers competitive advantages in terms of value and expertise due to his vast experience working with the various types of relational databases, traffic flow surveys, spatial mapping software, internal cost information and network models critical to performing transportation analysis.
