Paul A. Jordan, P.E. specializes in interim management, project valuation and restructuring advisory. Mr. Jordan has more than 35 years of energy experience in a wide range of executive, financial, engineering, operational, regulatory and restructuring roles for both financial providers and energy industry producers.
During his tenure at FTI Consulting, Mr. Jordan has served as Chairman of Resources Acquisition, Chief Restructuring Officer of Antares Energy Company and Layline Petroleum and President of BNL(Enterprise) Inc. He has also been a member of financial advisory teams representing both the creditor and debtor sides of oil and gas company restructuring engagements, including EP Energy, Energy XXI, Ultra Petroleum, Northstar Oil & Gas, California Resources Corporation and Rex Energy. In addition to his interim management and restructuring roles, Mr. Jordan has also conducted business plan reviews, lien coverage analysis, contract rejection analysis, asset sales and investment audits. He has also, prepared corporate opinions and served as an expert witness.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Jordan founded NP3 LLC, a Denver-based firm offering a range of advisory and consulting services to multiple industry and financial services clients engaged in the oil and gas upstream and midstream industries. Through NP3, Mr. Jordan served as CFO of PRE Resources, a private E&P startup, and Vessels Coal Gas, an environmental-energy firm. He also conducted independent technical and corporate analyses of multiple prospective and existing E&P borrowers for GE Capital’s Energy Financial Services Group.
Before forming NP3, Mr. Jordan worked as a financial and operations executive for Willsource Enterprise, an exploration and production company with assets in Texas and Colorado. Prior to Willsource Enterprise, he served as a marketer, structurer and portfolio manager for several Boston-based private equity providers, including The Harvard Management Company, Sowood Capital Management and Denham Capital Management. Before that, Mr. Jordan served as an Oil and Gas Portfolio Manager in GE Capital’s Structured Finance Group in Stamford, CT, where he had oversight of the financial and operational performance of investments in 15 exploration and production partnerships with a total value of more than $500 million.
Prior to GE Capital, Mr. Jordan served in multiple roles at CIBC World Markets, including Team Leader of Energy Capital Markets, managing the group responsible for the oversight of $6 billion in financings and derivatives lines for independent and major oil companies, refiners and natural gas transmission companies. He screened transactions totaling $1.7 billion and negotiated, structured and closed $600 million in agented and/or underwritten E&P and refining financings.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Jordan served for seven years as a Senior Petroleum Engineer for independent producers Petro-Lewis Corporation and BHP Petroleum, where he had technical responsibility for the companies’ interests in more than 50 oil and gas fields in the Gulf Coast, Gulf of Mexico and the Rocky Mountains.
Mr. Jordan holds a B.S. in petroleum engineering from Montana Tech and an M.B.A. in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and previously held NASD registered licenses 7 and 63 from 1997 to 1999. Mr. Jordan is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers.
