About Paul
Paul Stroup is a Managing Director in the Turnaround & Restructuring practice, specializing in financial restructurings, operational turnarounds and capital markets transactions. He has experience providing financial advisory services in numerous engagements involving troubled situations, strategic evaluation and implementation, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate finance transactions. Mr. Stroup has industry experience in consumer, education, healthcare, media, natural resources, publishing, restaurants, retail and telecommunications.
Mr. Stroup has provided restructuring advisory and interim/crisis management services in both in- and out-of-court settings and has assisted financial sponsors, boards of directors, companies and creditors in developing, evaluating and executing strategic and financing alternatives. He has also prepared valuation, solvency and debt capacity analyses; developed corporate business plans, 13-week cash flow forecasts, turnaround initiatives and restructuring proposals; and conducted operational and financial due diligence, including valuations, business plan reviews and debt capacity analyses. Additionally, Mr. Stroup has managed daily liquidity needs and implemented cost-cutting and operational improvements for companies.
A representative list of Mr. Stroup’s clients includes Aspect Software, Delta Career Education Corporation, EduK Group, Jack Cooper Transport, Logan’s Roadhouse, Nelson Education, Pinnacle Agriculture, Production Resource Group, Sequa Corporation and WIS International.
Mr. Stroup joined FTI Consulting with its acquisition of CDG Group. Prior to CDG Group, Mr. Stroup worked in the Leveraged Finance and Syndicated Loan Capital Markets groups at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he focused on structuring, executing and originating transactions in the high-yield bond and leveraged loan markets.
Mr. Stroup holds a B.A. in economics from Davidson College, where he was awarded the William Holt Terry Scholar Fellowship for demonstrating exemplary leadership and personal integrity and for contributing to the schools’ living and learning community. Mr. Stroup previously held the FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses and is currently a member of the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors.
