Peggy A. Allen is a Managing Director in the FTI Consulting Corporate Finance/Restructuring practice and is based in Brentwood. Ms. Allen is a member of the FTI Consulting Healthcare Solutions group. She has more than 20 years of experience in financial management in the healthcare industry. With expertise in financial, strategic and viability analysis, as well as cash flow and revenue enhancement, Ms. Allen identifies bottom line improvement opportunities and guides onsite implementation for hospitals and health systems.

Ms. Allen also serves as an interim chief financial officer (CFO) as needed. Most recently, she has served as the interim CFO for a 619-bed hospital and participated in the successful renegotiation of a forbearance agreement with the creditors.  

Ms. Allen’s experience includes guiding the turnaround of a large, public, academically affiliated health system comprised of a tertiary hospital, 12 clinics and four health plans. Under her direction, the health system went from a $25 million loss to break-even in 14 months and subsequently achieved a positive margin. Ms. Allen’s team developed and implemented a $30 million capital improvement program.

Ms. Allen also served as the financial project leader for a two-hospital California system suffering annual losses of $15 million. She led the development and implementation of an earnings improvement plan that financially stabilized the organization. At another California hospital system, Ms. Allen guided improvement from break-even to a profit of $16.5 million, improving the cash position and allowing for a reduction of the outstanding letter of credit.

Ms. Allen joined FTI Consulting in 2005 with its acquisition of Cambio Health Solutions. She had been with Cambio since 1997. Prior to that, Ms. Allen was a consultant in the Central Group of Columbia/HCA Healthcare. Other previous positions include division CFO for the Lone Star and Arkansas division of Columbia/HCA; assistant vice president of finance, Austin Region, HealthTrust; group chief financial officer, EPIC Healthcare Group; and vice president of finance, AMI Park Plaza Hospital, American Medical International.

Ms. Allen holds a B.S. in business administration with emphasis in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is a certified public accountant in Mississippi.
