Peter Kyviakidis is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment based in New York providing forensic accounting, litigation consulting, auditor malpractice, and transaction support services. Mr. Kyviakidis has industry expertise which includes technology, retail, manufacturing, media, and consumer product companies. Mr. Kyviakidis has over 32 years of combined experience in providing forensic accounting, litigation consulting, corporate financial and operational management as well as financial advisory and attestation services.
Mr. Kyviakidis has had extensive experience in analyzing and forming opinions on a wide variety of complex accounting, financial reporting, and financial statement auditing issues. Moreover, Mr. Kyviakidis has led an array of fraud investigations at a variety of United States based publicly-held entities. Additionally, Mr. Kyviakidis has worked successfully with both a former Chairman as well as Chief Accountant of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on several high-profile client matters. Mr. Kyviakidis is an adept public speaker who has delivered a number of presentations on various accounting, financial statement auditing, and financial reporting topics and has been quoted in the financial press regarding the same.
Mr. Kyviakidis has performed accounting advisory services on behalf of the creditors’ committees in connection with some of the largest bankruptcy estates in United States history. Additionally, Mr. Kyviakidis has over 16 years of financial statement auditing experience with a concentration of both publicly and privately-held clients in the technology, retail and distribution, media, and consumer products industries.
In addition to the foregoing, Mr. Kyviakidis, in his former role as Chief Financial Officer for one of the fastest growing as well as leading ventured backed cloud-based SaaS publishing platform companies, had responsibility for all aspects of corporate financial management, including financial reporting, tax, corporate compliance, budgeting, financial modeling, capital raising, and treasury operations.
Mr. Kyviakidis holds a B.S. degree in accounting and economics from New York University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York. Mr. Kyviakidis is also a Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified in Fraud and Forensics, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Mr. Kyviakidis is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Kyviakidis has, over a period of over 25 years, held a variety of adjunct professor teaching positions at both the undergraduate as well as on the graduate education levels. In such teaching roles, Mr. Kyviakidis has developed and delivered course content covering financial reporting, financial accounting, advanced financial statement auditing, corporate finance, corporate compliance, forensic accounting and business law.
