Phil Kennedy

Phil Kennedy is a Senior Director at FTI Consulting and is based in London. He leads the Planning Communications team within the Real Estate and Professional Services practice of the Strategic Communications segment. Mr Kennedy works across the United Kingdom in a role that combines public relations, public affairs and community consultation.

Mr. Kennedy’s experience since 1995 covers the sectors of town planning, housing, student accommodation, retail, industrial, leisure, energy, health and education. He has worked with housing associations, planning consultants, architects, lawyers, surveyors, training providers, welfare-to-work contractors, developers, pension funds, charities, professional bodies, oil companies and local campaign groups.

Mr. Kennedy has won political and community support for controversial development proposals, such as tall towers, green belt development, new highways infrastructure and changes of use. His experience of community consultation extends beyond the planning system to licensing for a rural rock festival.

Mr. Kennedy is registered as a lobbyist with the UK Public Affairs Council. He has helped to build the case for new policy at local and national level. His experience ranges from campaigning for regulatory change to ministerial meetings and party conference events.
