Vanessa-Lauren Massie has industry expertise that includes healthcare, pharmacy services, financial technology, and engineering/real estate. She has 20 years of experience in corporate finance, general accounting, investigative/forensic accounting, and healthcare operations management, with an emphasis on revenue cycle enhancement, labor and cost optimization, operational efficiency, process improvement, and business transformation. Her specialties include management under Private Equity ownership and post-acute and senior care.
Over the last 10 years, Ms. Massie has focused on various financial and operational leadership positions in healthcare and pharmacy services, including FP&A, strategic planning and reorganization, pricing and profitability, and performance analysis and improvement.
During Ms. Massie's time at FTI Consulting, she has been the interim finance & accounting leader for several PE-backed rollups, including Dental and Radiology. She has led the FP&A function, provided finance, accounting, cash planning advisory, initiated revenue cycle strategies and processes, and provided on-site leadership for the integration of new practice sites into the company. Additionally, she has performed performance improvement management, bond covenant compliance, cash flow management, and restructuring analysis for several other clients including in the Skilled Nursing industry.
Ms. Massie's most recent industry-side experience was as VP of operational finance for $1.3B, 200-agency region of a large post-acute healthcare services company, she led a cross-functional, high-performance team that drove high financial returns, despite market compression, through various operational initiatives including revenue cycle improvement, labor productivity and utilization, supply cost optimization, and shared service centralization.
Ms. Massie obtained a Six Sigma Green Belt process improvement certification through the BGMI Institute while working with McKesson Inc.
