Vikas Papriwal is a solutions orientated professional who leads large financial restructurings, transactions advisory, and acquisition projects from inception to completion. He has nearly 30 years of experience providing restructuring advice and financial solutions to a wide range of stakeholders in stressed and distressed situations.
Mr. Papriwal has lived and operated in the UAE, U.K., and India and provided transaction advice to a wide range of private equity, sovereign wealth, and corporate clients on over 200 transactions in over 15 countries, including some of the largest private equity transactions in UAE and Europe.
Mr. Papriwal served on the Board of one of the largest government-related entities in the Middle East as Lenders' Representative. He helped Lenders increase their recovery to 100% on this USD 25 billion debt restructuring with asset across logistics, hospitality, real estate, gaming, ship building, and private equity.
Mr. Papriwal assisted the group of Unsecured Lenders of one of UAE’s government related entities, to achieve a consensual restructuring involving inter-creditor issues between both Secured and Unsecured Lenders on this USD 10 billion debt restructuring with a number of majority and minority holdings across a range of financial services assets operating in emerging markets.
Mr. Papriwal also oversaw the turnaround of two KPMG businesses through strategic focus on managed accounts, shutting loss-making businesses, and replacing with investment in high margin niche businesses with hands-on management of the turnaround.
Mr. Papriwal has advised on some of the largest leveraged buyout transactions in Europe, including Casema - Essent Kablecom and Multikabel, Danish, Belgium, and Swedish Posts, Com Hem, and UPC Sweden. More recently, he has advised on the sales of Network International, GEMS International, and Drydocks Dubai.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Papriwal spent 17 years with KPMG both in London (Private Equity Group) and in the UAE (as Head of Transactions and Restructuring and then as Head of Advisory). Mr. Papriwal has also led KPMG's Clients and Markets function across the Middle East.
