Vishal Gandhi is a Director in the Global Risk and Investigations practice of FTI Consulting and is based in Mumbai.
Vishal has served a range of financial sponsors and institutions, large corporates and law firms in structuring, executing and delivering corporate intelligence and due diligence engagements across industries for many of India’s most high-profile private equity transactions, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and initial public offerings. He additionally possesses expertise in running discreet and overt business-critical corporate investigations and global asset searches. In supporting one of India’s largest banks with stressed asset remediation, Vishal helped trace more than US$100 million in global hidden assets. In a real-time matter for one of Asia Pacific’s leading media & publishing enterprises, his work uncovered discreet intelligence that resulted in US$2 million in direct savings for the client from an aborted joint venture. He has also closely collaborated with the India unit of a global industrial conglomerate toward managing 3rd party risk in the country.
Vishal’s experience includes private and public sectors across multiple locations in North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Vishal was a Management Trainee at a multinational luxury goods firm where he conducted an enterprise-wide strategic review to successfully develop the business case for securing greater supplies during the renegotiation of a multi-million dollar supply contract. He also conceived and implemented a marketing strategy for small-business clients.
Vishal’s other stints include social sector & international development consulting, investment banking, commodities research and government & public policy. He was closely involved in the formulation of India’s 12th Five Year Plan at Government of India’s Planning Commission, where he prepared reports for top officials including the Prime Minister of India.
Vishal holds a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University (U.S.A.) and a B.S. degree from Indiana University (U.S.A.). He is fluent in English and native in Indian languages, Hindi and Gujarati.
