Michael Horoho

Michael Horoho is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Data & Analytics practice. Since joining FTI Consulting in 2014, Mr. Horoho has leveraged his skills to provide support on complex investigations involving the acquisition and modeling of large quantities of transactional and accounting data. Mr. Horoho has applied data analytics to enhance and support multiple cybersecurity investigations and has designed and executed remediation strategies for organizations impacted by errors in their technology systems. He has also advised organizations on navigating artificial intelligence regulations and compliance, helping clients mitigate risks and align their AI initiatives with evolving regulatory standards. Additionally, Mr. Horoho is a part of FTI Consulting’s ESG Global Ambassador team, offering his expertise in solving complex ESG-related data challenges.

Mr. Horoho has experience on complex investigations where he has assisted in managing the collection and analysis of complex data sets from systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) systems, custom applications and client databases. He assisted in the consolidation, normalization and analysis of these complex data sets using SQL, Python, R and other tools. Mr. Horoho has extensive experience developing automated models and analytics for litigation and investigation support, which could be modified based upon the legal foundations provided by counsel.

Mr. Horoho assisted a client with remediating investors for monetary loss caused by an internal systems issue. He led a team responsible for designing and building a model to calculate pro forma balances based on historical data and complex logic to assess what each investor was owed. The model could process many transactions quickly and enabled the efficient calculation of proforma balances across tens of thousands of investors. During that engagement, Mr. Horoho was part of a team deployed to review the client code to verify the source of the error and that the coding fix was applied accurately.

Mr. Horoho supported a client with documentation and code review of its distributed e-delivery platform to understand the root cause of a known processing error. Additionally, he helped the client quantify the scope of the error and performed data-driven reconciliations to confirm the error was resolved.
