About Rita
Rita Fong leads the Capital Markets & Transactions Communications practice in Hong Kong. Rita specialises in conducting transaction communications programs and investor relations programs for publicly listed companies in Hong Kong and the United States, as well as designing and executing crisis management strategies. She has completed more than 30 IPO and M&A communications programs, and has advised on special situations, including but not limited to shareholder disputes, activism, proxy fights, hostile takeovers, restructuring, short selling, corporate scandals, operational issues and employee matters.
Rita’s most recent notable transactions include China Mobile’s acquisition of Hong Kong Broadband, the take private of Club Med owner Fosun Tourism, Amer Sports’ U.S. IPO and New Oriental’s Hong Kong secondary listing. She also manages comprehensive corporate communications programs for multinational corporations and global financial institutions, including private equity firms, custodian banks, investment banks, private banks, asset managers and insurance companies. In addition, she has experience developing public education programs for financial regulators and government bodies in the region.
Rita’s deep understanding of the local capital markets, the complexities of cross border transactions, local market intelligence and regulatory dynamics, combined with her strong relationships with both international and local media, enables her to develop solutions that deliver both business and financial impact.
Rita received her M.B.L. in Corporate and Commercial Law and B.S. in Social Science from the University of New South Wales, Australia. She speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
