The European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) is a benchmark for corporate responsibility that applies to large EU companies and non-EU companies operating in the EU. Companies can no longer confine their due diligence obligations to their own operations but must instead extend it to their entire supply chain, including subsidiaries and business partners.
In the January 2025 Issue of Governance Magazine, FTI Consulting’s Nicola Cobb provides an overview of the CSDDD, including its key pillars, the challenges of implementation, the dangers of non-compliance and the importance of proactivity.
