To scale its impact and better serve disadvantaged children, Saigon Children’s Charity CIO, a prominent UK-registered NGO in Vietnam, sought to improve volunteer coordination and strengthen its data protection in line with international privacy standards. FTI Consulting provided tailored guidance to streamline volunteer management and enhance data handling practices, helping it operate more efficiently and responsibly.
Our Impact:
- Streamlined volunteer onboarding and safeguarding protocols, improving engagement and operational efficiency and strengthened data governance and privacy compliance across UK and Vietnamese legal frameworks.
- Increased donor confidence, particularly overseas MNC donors, by aligning communications and data use practices with global standards.
- Delivered actionable recommendations that were promptly implemented to improve compliance and trust.
Our Role:
- FTI Consulting consolidated existing policies into a cohesive volunteer handbook aligned with international safeguarding best practices. By centralising previously scattered information into a clear, easy-to-navigate format, the organisation has strengthened its ability engage with international volunteers.
- We reviewed and tailored consent forms and image/data use practices for public events in line with Vietnam’s PDPD, reducing the administrative burden on the client. By streamlining permission processes involving large groups, while ensuring compliance with personal data privacy requirements, multinational corporate donors are now able to lawfully use event images for marketing purposes.
- FTI Consulting rewrote the organisation’s privacy policy to meet UK, Vietnam and US legal requirements. By creating clear and transparent donor-facing materials, international donors can now feel more comfortable to secure when donating.
- Assessed Microsoft 365 environment and developed a 12-month roadmap to mitigate data risks and enhance governance maturity, allowing the client to proactively address compliance and potential security vulnerabilities. This initiative laid the groundwork for broader governance enhancements, including the implementation of multi-factor authentication across user access.
