Rory O’Brien

Rory O’Brien is Co-Leader of the Global Insurance Services practice at FTI Consulting and is based in London. Rory has worked in the insurance industry for more than 35 years. He has held several senior management and leadership roles at insurers and professional services companies.

Rory founded RPC Consulting in February 2015 and was the Managing Partner until his departure in 2017. Whilst there, he established a new, insurance-focused actuarial consulting, software and management business through an acquisition and expanded the team to 65 actuaries, data scientists and management consultants.

Prior to RPC Consulting, Rory worked at Towers Watson, which he joined as part of the acquisition of EMB Corporation in January 2011. He was later appointed Global Head of Risk Consulting & Software. At EMB, he was the Managing Partner and was also responsible for the firm’s Insurance Management Consultancy practice.

Preceding Towers Watson, Rory was the Group Chief Executive at Guardian Holdings, one of the largest publicly quoted Caribbean financial services companies. Earlier in his career, he was a partner in the Financial Services Division and Joint Head of Insurance Consulting at Deloitte. He also worked in the Actuarial and Insurance Consulting practice of Bacon & Woodrow and in various accounting roles within Legal and General in the UK and Abbey Life in Ireland.
