Lisa O’Connor, MS, BSN, RN

Lisa O’Connor has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Ms. O’Connor has expertise in operational management, merger integration and performance improvement consulting which includes, but is not limited to, operational strategy, executive leadership and governance, labor productivity management within a unionized environment, clinical quality improvement, strategic pharmacy design, risk management, operations, disaster preparedness, physician relationships, negotiation, executive recruitment and other key executive leadership responsibilities.

Ms. O’Connor has been successful in partnering with clients in developing and implementing strategy, integration, operational and financial improvement in challenging environments. She has led large and small-scale projects in academic and non-academic healthcare settings, working closely with her clients to achieve their desired results. Ms. O’Connor is an experienced leadership mentor and advisor, with extensive experience leading through challenging times. Most recently, Ms. O’Connor led a large-scale merger integration of a premier academic medical center and a multihospital community hospital system, as well as a statewide approach to a multi-hospital bankruptcy.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. O’Connor was the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations and Chief Nursing Officer at Boston Medical Center, where she was responsible for both the day-to-day operations and the clinical strategic planning for the health system. Ms. O’Connor also played a key role in one of the most successful public-private mergers in the country. Notably, Ms. O’Connor served as the Incident Commander during the Boston Marathon bombings and has been recognized by several Boston-based organizations for her leadership under extraordinarily difficult circumstances.

Ms. O’Connor served on the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine and chaired the Licensing Committee. Ms. O’Connor has a green belt in Lean Six Sigma from GE and was a 2009 Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow.

Ms. O’Connor holds her B.S.N. from Salem State College and her M.S. in Management from Lesley University.
