Tim Battrick advises on the quantification of lost profits and the valuation of shares, businesses and intellectual property. In addition to his dispute-related work, Tim advises clients on valuation matters in non-contentious settings.
Tim has testified on valuation and damages matters before the High Court of England and Wales, as well as in London Court of International Arbitration (‘LCIA’), International Chamber of Commerce (‘ICC’), Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (‘SCC’) and International Centre for Dispute Resolution (‘ICDR’) arbitrations. The Lexology Index has named him a thought leader in commercial litigation and intellectual property and a future leader in arbitration.
He has advised buyers and sellers on share transactions, supported stakeholders in financial restructurings, prepared valuations for financial reporting and assisted parties to license intellectual property rights.
Tim is a chartered accountant and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He holds a first-class honours M.A. in Mathematics from Cambridge University.
Relevant Experience:
- Assessed the loss suffered by the buyer of a food business due to an alleged failure by the seller to provide certain recipes
- Assessed the loss suffered by a company in the payment services sector due to the diversion of certain customers to a competitor
- Assessed the loss suffered by a financial services company because of former employees setting up a new business which allegedly relied on proprietary information of their former employer
- Provided evidence on the valuation of a software business in a dispute between its shareholders
- Assessed the loss suffered by an individual who claimed to be entitled to a 50% interest in an investment management business
