Romina Gerhards counsels clients on navigating complex challenges that require data-driven and digital-first communications strategies. With her audience-centric approach, Romina helps organizations craft compelling narratives and reach decision makers where they are, thereby driving positive business outcomes.
Romina merges strategic insight with innovative execution, bringing value to clients, notably in relation to integrated, multistakeholder campaigns around key issues. This includes social and digital media strategies and online risk management. She counsels board members and CEOs on effective multichannel executive positioning programmes.
Romina brings 25 years of experience in consultancy and journalism, having worked across multiple industries and international markets. She has particular industry expertise in the insurance, consumer goods, technology, automotive, industrial and energy sectors. In her role as a Managing Director at FTI Consulting, Romina leads the expansion of digital capabilities for clients in Germany and across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Romina held management positions at international network agencies (WPP’s Burson and Hill & Knowlton), an independent communications agency (Achtung) and a global media company (Bauer Media Group). Her professional expertise includes many years of experience as a freelance journalist, reporting news for different media companies such as Funke.
Romina holds an M.A. in Journalism from Queensland University of Technology in Australia and a B.Sc. in Communications from Westfälische Hochschule in Germany. She also completed a journalistic traineeship at Bauer Media Group. She is passionate about mentorship. As an alumna of The Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes – German Academic Scholarship Foundation, Romina provides external mentorship support to next-generation talent.
