Amanda Tait is a Senior Director in the Capital Markets team within the Strategic Communications practice of FTI Consulting. She has experience spanning transaction communications, media and investor relations; and providing strategic advice on issues and crisis management.
With a corporate finance background, she has advised on a wide range of transactions including hostile and contested situations, complex cross-border transactions and takeover defences. Recent projects include, takeover response to DuluxGroup’s $A188 million hostile offer for Alesco, the proposed merger of Xstrata and Glencore, CIMB’s acquisition of select Royal Bank of Scotland assets in Australia, a strategic review and NZ$1.525bn sale of PEP-owned Independent Liquor to Asahi Group Holdings and subsequent legal action, a strategic review and sale of Tegel Foods to Affinity Equity Partners, Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding’s acquisition of a 56.2% stake in TSI Fund, Kirin Holdings’ acquisition of the 53.87% it did not already own in Lion Nathan, the proposed US$19.5 billion investment proposal by Chinalco for a stake in Rio Tinto.
Amanda’s career has spanned corporate finance, M&A and financial communications. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, she was an Associate Partner and co-head of Financial Services at the London-based PR agency, Finsbury. During this time she worked with clients - ranging from private equity firms and hedge funds to FTSE100 companies − in developing and executing corporate and transaction communication strategies, managing day-to-day media relations and supporting investor relations.
Before this, Amanda worked in the M&A team for Barclays Bank in London and in the Corporate Finance practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Melbourne.
