Anil Varghese is a Managing Director in the FTI Consulting Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and is based in Chicago. He is a member of the Data & Analytics practice. Mr. Varghese has more than 6 years of experience providing large-scale data analysis and computer forensics projects for disputes, fraud investigations, and other financial and accounting matters.

Mr. Varghese was the technical lead for the data intake team, supporting an employer’s internal digital evidence and e-Discovery services. The team was responsible for receiving, processing, normalizing, and extracting data from all forms of electronic evidence to be reviewed in electronic discovery platforms. Established data intake standards and procedures while enforcing evidence handling best practices when dealing with client data.

One of the nation’s largest commercial truck and mid-range diesel engine producers announced that it will restate its financial results for the fiscal years 2002 through 2005. Mr. Varghese assisted in the loading and analysis of years of historical accounting data into a SQL Server database. Historical data was used by the restatement team to reconcile and create adjusting journal entries resulting in an accounting restatement for a multi-billion dollar industrial company.

Mr. Varghese managed the implementation of a foreign entity SQL server tool for a multi-billion dollar industrial company. He was responsible for coordinating all day to day activities for the SQL server client team. He coordinated a number of tasks with the overall team and the client and successfully managed all the version controls of the various input files. He also assisted with creating documentation, training and updating system processes as the needs arose.

A Medicare and Medicaid company was involved in a legal dispute with the United States Department of Justice with regards to pricing used on various drugs. Mr. Varghese’s team was asked to prove using data provided by the client and the DOJ that there was no wrong-doing or unethical behavior done by the client. He was responsible for loading, normalizing, and analyzing data in order to complete various client requests.

Mr. Varghese assisted in the transfer of SQL knowledge for an email marketing client. He documented all database workflows as well as all reporting processes. He created documentation for the client to better understand the flow of data.

Mr. Varghese created and updated the collection of all metric data for his employer's internal data collection team. He provided back end coding for all daily and monthly metric reporting. Mr. Varghese forensically imaged computers and collected backup tape and server data that was later processed, extracted, and produced to an external electronic review vendor.
