Brett Clapp

Brett Clapp is a Senior Managing Director in the Forensic and Litigation Consulting segment of FTI Consulting and he is based in New York and Singapore. Mr. Clapp leads the company’s Asia Pacific Financial & Enterprise Data Analytics practice. His expertise is in extracting and analyzing large amounts of data from disparate financial systems to quickly and efficiently provide meaningful insights. He specializes in complex, data- intensive cases including government and regulatory investigations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) compliance, financial and accounting investigations, class action settlement distributions, bankruptcies and other cases requiring complex data modelling or the sharing of electronic information.

Mr. Clapp has extensive experience in the identification, collection, analysis, and production of financial, transactional and operational electronic data. He has managed the design and implementation of complex data platforms including the integration of multiple disparate financial systems, the assessment of existing financial system data integrity, and the definition and application of complex legal and financial data analysis methodologies. Additionally, he has been responsible for financial system reconciliations, developing internal and external financial reporting packages, and assessing and updating internal risk controls.

Mr. Clapp’s most notable engagements include leading the team responsible for the reconstruction of all accounts as a core member of the global FTI Consulting team providing litigation support to the Trustee on the Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities Ponzi scheme. He also led the development of innovative data analytics methodologies, to apply the requirements of complex U.S. trade sanctions laws, in response to allegations of violations by a large Chinese telecommunications company as part of settlement discussions with the U.S. Government.
