Chuck Goad is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Charlotte. He is a member of the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment.

Mr. Goad has more than 15 years of financial and accounting experience. His expertise includes financial accounting, business/asset sale advisory services, financial and operational assessment, project management, performance improvement, financial modeling, negotiations, business valuation, vendor relations and bankruptcy management.

Mr. Goad has worked on dozens of engagements representing companies, private equity, creditors and banks. His industry experience includes transportation, distribution, manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, education, food service, furniture, healthcare, continuing care, construction, real estate, agribusiness, textiles, paper and packaging, advertising, credit collections, technology and medical products.

A representative list of Mr. Goad’s engagements include Pilot Flying J, a $29 billion truck stop operator and diesel retailer; a $900 million truckload carrier; Delphi Corporation, a $30 billion tier one automotive supplier; Mobile Tool International, a $150 million manufacturer of utility trucks; Robb & Stucky, a $250 million retailer of high end furniture and interior design; a $150 million chain of restaurant and entertainment clubs; a $200 million producer of potato chips and snack foods; Trident Microsystems, a provider of semiconductors for digital home entertainment; Berkline/Benchcraft, a $500 million furniture manufacturer; Delta Woodside, a $680 million textile manufacturer and former Fortune 500 conglomerate; an HVAC construction contractor; an infrastructure and road construction contractor; a $750 million private aircraft seller; Orleans Homebuilders, a $975 million residential builder; a $100 million bus manufacturer; a $500 million paper mill; Imperial Home Décor Group, a $250 million manufacturer of wallpaper; Crown Simplimatic, a manufacturer of bottling and materials handling equipment; and a $500 million textile and fabric manufacturer. Mr. Goad represented the lenders to a nearly 150 year-old historically black college and university (“HBCU”). He also represented the lenders to School Specialty, one of the nation’s largest educational supply companies. Mr. Goad was the interim chief financial officer (“CFO”) of Pharmed Corporation, a $450 million medical products distributor.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Goad spent nearly five years with TRG, a turnaround and crisis management firm, in their Charlotte office. Before TRG, he spent four years as an auditor with KPMG in their Charlotte and Cayman Islands offices.

Mr. Goad holds a B.S.B.A. in Accounting from Appalachian State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (“CIRA”). Mr. Goad serves as Treasurer with the Cub Scouts of America.
