Chris George is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Boston, MA.  Mr. George is in the Health Solutions practice and heads the Physician Enterprise segment.  Mr. George has provided financial, operational and strategic advisory services to healthcare providers. Mr. George has extensive experience in working closely with physician and hospital leaders on comprehensive performance improvement initiatives. Specifically, he has more than 20 years of healthcare experience including provider performance improvement, medical group governance and organizational redesign, advanced analytics, physician productivity and compensation, practice operations and healthcare information technology.

Mr. George is responsible for quality assurance and project outcomes and for the application of FTI’s methodologies and proprietary tools. Mr. George brings a unique breadth and depth of executive experience to his consulting. Starting with a background in healthcare information technology, he has built his career managing large, complex physician organizations, and has served as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), and Director of Finance. His expertise combines organizational strategy with practical, hands-on experience in driving cultural change.

Prior to joining FTI, Mr. George founded Think First, a boutique consulting firm focused on performance improvement for large physician organizations. Under his leadership, Think First improved patient access, streamlined clinic operations, aligned physicians, improved productivity, and accelerated the revenue cycle for thousands of physicians nationwide. Also under Mr. George, Think First developed Instant Informatics, a proprietary practice management tool that works with existing client data to monitor performance improvement and increase operational efficiency.

Prior to Think First, Mr. George spent 13 years as the Vice-President and Chief Information Officer for University Medical Associates, the faculty practice plan for the physicians at the Medical University of South Carolina and University Physicians Group, the faculty practice plan for the physicians of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In these roles, he led both organizations in major performance improvement initiatives and organizational redesign.

Mr. George holds his M.S. in Computer Information Systems from Bentley University and his B.A. in Healthcare Administration from Stonehill College.
