Christopher Pirrera is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Chicago. He is a member of the Transaction Services (“TS”) practice within the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment.

Mr. Pirrera serves as a financial advisor to strategic and financial buyers with buy-side, sell-side and post-acquisition due diligence, as well as lenders, investment banks and other financing sources with due diligence as part of the origination and monitoring of leveraged, high yield “B” piece, subordinated, debtor-in-possession (“DIP”) and asset-based lending (“ABL”) financings and securitizations.

Mr. Pirrera’s buy-side, sell-side and origination-related due diligence experience includes quality of earnings, historical operating performance, financial statement and cash flow forecasts and asset-based analyses of target companies. His post-transaction services work includes working capital dispute resolution and monitoring/investigative due diligence.

Mr. Pirrera’s acquisition-related transactions have ranged in value from $20 million to in excess of $500 million, his post-close working capital dispute adjustments have ranged from $1 million to $65 million, while his lender-related transactions have ranged from $10 million unsecured financings to over $1 billion asset-based loans. Mr. Pirrera has served many industries, including agriculture, automotive, consumer packaged goods, credit card processors, energy, food wholesalers, graphics/printing, healthcare, internet service providers, logistics, professional services, retail, restaurant/entertainment and software/technology.

Mr. Pirrera led the day-to-day forensic accounting investigation and three year financial statement restatement resulting from management fraud at an Asian-based joint venture of a U.S. client. He also has assisted management of a troubled company in devising short- to medium-term financial strategies and projections for use in a troubled debt restructuring, and implemented controls over cash expenditures and overhead/operating costs. In addition, he analysed and evaluated a performance improvement plan for a $2 billion healthcare management organization.

Chris has advised pre- and post-petition secured lenders in multiple bankruptcy situations. In these roles, he monitored the weekly and monthly operating results of the debtor, assisted legal counsel in discovery proceedings and evaluated the debtor’s business plan and economics of proposed asset sales under section 363.

Mr. Pirrera was also a part of a national team assisting in the reorganization of the financial and metric reporting systems of a Fortune 500 Company in the waste services industry. He assisted in the management and oversight of the process at the field locations and developed a work plan to initiate technical and analytical solutions to company management.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Pirrera worked in the U.S. Business Restructuring Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Attest Services groups of Deloitte & Touché LLP and KPMG LLP, where he performed attest services and acquisition-related due diligence.

Mr. Pirrera holds a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Pirrera is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and Turnaround Management Association.
