Christopher Halas is a Senior Director at FTI Consulting. He is a member of the Economic and Financial Consulting practice and is based in London.

Christopher has over 11 years’ experience advising financial institutions – such as investment banks and alternative investment funds – and law firms on a wide range of capital markets issues in the context of international arbitration and litigation. In contentious matters, his work involves liability and damage assessments with respect to ISDA close-outs, GMRA/GMSLA terminations, investment suitability (e.g. in the context of investment management mandates, hedging products, structured products etc.) and claims involving allegations of mis-selling, misrepresentation and best execution breaches.

He advises banks in their responses to financial regulatory investigations, such as those involving interest rate benchmarks, foreign exchange trading and credit default swaps.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Christopher worked for NERA Economic Consulting, first in the Securities and Finance Practice in New York City and then in the European Finance, Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group in London. He began his career as an analyst in the treasury department of ACE Group (now Chubb) in Philadelphia.

Christopher graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rochester with a B.A., in Economics (Distinction) and Political Science and holds an M.Sc., in Finance from London Business School.

Christopher is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charterholder. He is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.
