Dan Hindin is a Senior Director and Head of Social Media Intelligence in the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting and is based in Chicago. He specializes in research and measurement in the social media space. His strength lies in orchestrating comprehensive research plans, including social listening audits, social channel audits and influencer identification, to inform both social and traditional communications strategies, as well as developing robust customized measurement frameworks to convey the business value of social efforts.
Mr. Hindin has made many public appearances including guest lectures at the University of Chicago, panels such as the Digital Analytics Association and speeches at the PR News Measurement Conference and the Ragan/PR Daily PR and Digital Content Summit.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Hindin was Vice President, Global Digital Research & Analytics at Ketchum, where he built and led an international team of researchers and analysts to drive social media insights and measurement for a wide range of clients in the corporate, healthcare, financial, energy, consumer and technology spaces and beyond. Prior to joining Ketchum, he was the first person to be hired as a digital analytics specialist at Weber Shandwick, where he founded and built the Digital Analytics team in the Chicago office.
Mr. Hindin holds a Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from Northwestern University’s Medill School, where he was selected to participate in the Media Management program at the Kellogg School of Management and served as Managing Director of the student-run blog, Vitamin IMC. While at Northwestern, he was chosen by the faculty to receive the monetary Student Service Award “for contributions to the school and to the IMC program that are above and beyond any expectations by helping to build the personality and culture of IMC.”
