Dan Hindin is a Managing Director and Head of Social Media in the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting and is based in Chicago.

He leads his team driving integrated social media strategies rooted in sound data and intelligence, with a focus in areas including corporate reputation, public affairs and issues advocacy across sectors such as Energy & Natural Resources, Industrials, Health Care & Life Sciences, Financial Services and Technology.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Hindin was Vice President, Global Digital Research & Analytics at Ketchum, where he built from the ground up an international team of researchers and analysts to drive social media insights, measurement and strategy for a wide range of household name companies. Prior to joining Ketchum, he broke ground at Weber Shandwick, where he was brought on as the global agency’s first-ever digital analytics specialist and tapped to launch and build the Digital Analytics team in the Chicago office.

Previously, Mr. Hindin worked as Editor and Community Manager of leading PR industry blog Spin Sucks, where his strategies led the publication to earn the #2 global ranking on PostRank’s list of top PR blogs.

During his career, Mr. Hindin has worked with many top global clients, some of which include Exxon Mobil, HP, Monsanto, JPMorgan Chase, Nestle, Cigna, Unilever, Philips, Mondelez, Tesoro, Michelin, Whirlpool, Kimberly-Clark, Kraft, General Mills, Bristol-Myers Squibb, ConAgra, Tata Group and Motorola.

Mr. Hindin has made many public appearances to speak on various social media topics, including guest lectures, panel discussions, speeches and videos organized by groups such as the University of Chicago, the Digital Analytics Association, PR News, PR Daily, Northwestern University and Sage Publications.

Mr. Hindin holds a Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from Northwestern University’s Medill School, where he was selected to participate in the Media Management program at the Kellogg School of Management and served as Managing Director of the student-run blog, Vitamin IMC. While at Northwestern, he was chosen by the faculty to receive the monetary Student Service Award “for contributions to the school and to the IMC program that are above and beyond any expectations by helping to build the personality and culture of IMC.”
