Dominic Di Napoli is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in New York. Mr. Di Napoli primarily focuses on high profile engagements and opportunities within the five business practices of FTI Consulting. Leveraging his extensive experience in corporate finance and restructuring, he plays a significant role in the FTI Corporate Finance practice.
Mr. Di Napoli is widely acknowledged by his peers as one of the pioneers of the corporate restructuring industry. For more than twenty years, he has helped build major consulting practices that specialize in corporate restructuring and has provided turnaround advisory services to numerous companies. In addition, Mr. Di Napoli has advised clients on a wide array of complex bankruptcy and insolvency projects across many industries, including automotive, retail, energy, real estate, financial services and manufacturing.
Mr. Di Napoli co-led the Corporate Finance/Restructuring practice of FTI Consulting from 2002 to 2004, where he worked closely with senior management in evaluating and coordinating strategic acquisitions. Notably, he led the firm’s purchase of KPMG’s Dispute Advisory Services practice, a practice that today generates nearly $200 million in revenue and has approximately 400 professionals.
Prior to being appointed vice chairman, Mr. Di Napoli served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of FTI Consulting. In this capacity, he helped the company manage a three-fold increase in revenues, the addition of two business practices, a doubling of professionals and expansion of the firm’s global footprint from three to 21 countries.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Di Napoli led the consulting practices at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Coopers & Lybrand. While at PwC, he also served as the managing partner within its U.S. Business Recovery Services practice, where he initiated the discussion that led to the subsequent acquisition by FTI Consulting.
Mr. Di Napoli is the co-editor and author of the book Workouts and Turnarounds: The Handbook of Restructuring and Investing in Distressed Companies, Business One Irwin, 1991. He also was editor of Workouts and Turnarounds II: Global Restructuring Strategies for the Next Century, John Wiley, 1999 and The Practical Guide to Corporate Restructuring: A Credit Manager’s Handbook.
