Jeff Leonard is a Managing Director in the FTI Consulting Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and is based in New York, NY. Mr. Leonard is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries with more than 25 years of experience consulting to pension plan sponsors in the United States. Mr. Leonard's work includes the design, implementation, administration and financial management of all forms of employee benefit plans.

Mr. Leonard has created and implemented pension risk management tools based on client input to monitor a plan’s funded status with the intent to change a plan’s asset risk profile as the funded status changes. 

Mr. Leonard was the project leader for a governmental pension fund in its analysis of options and negotiation with pensioners in light of the plan’s deteriorating funded status.

Mr. Leonard's clients have included corporate plan sponsors, governmental entities, and associations. Mr. Leonard is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (1993), an Enrolled Actuary (1992), a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (1997), and a Level III CFA candidate.

Mr. Leonard has served in various capacities with the Society of Actuaries pension exam committees. Mr. Leonard also served on the Board of the Employee Benefits Research Institute. 

Mr. Leonard has held consulting and management positions with Wilshire Associates, Buck Consultants, Mercer and Towers Perrin. Mr. Leonard has been a frequent speaker on pension related issues including “Retirement Risk Management” at the Conference of Consulting Actuaries Annual Meeting, “Qualified Plan Funding Standards” at the Enrolled Actuaries Meeting, “Executive Benefits Financing and Design Alternatives” at the Enrolled Actuaries Meeting, and “Effective Use of Company Stock to Finance Executive Benefits” at the Financial Executives International Conference.

Mr. Leonard holds a degree in mathematics as well as economics and management (Centre College, 1987).
