Mr. Nolan’s experience includes participation in the effective financial turnaround of two nonprofit California hospitals suffering from an annual $15 million loss. For a large inner-city hospital system, Mr. Nolan integrated the role of chief implementation officer to effectively develop, monitor and ensure implementation of an EBIDA improvement plan of approximately $49 million. For a large, urban county in a southwestern state, he reorganized a managed care program for indigent patients to reduce expenses, increase accessibility, develop an effective case management model and automate the registration process.

At a medical center in Birmingham, Alabama, Mr. Nolan participated in tightening productivity, reducing length of stay through intensive clinical resource management, reducing non-labor expenses and supply costs and improving cash collections through revised revenue cycle processes. EBIDA has remained in the black for 10 of the past 12 months. A forbearance agreement has been signed and a $23 million line of credit has been approved for facility upgrades and equipment.
