Juliette Fortin is a Managing Director in the FTI Economic and Financial Consulting practice and is based in Paris. Ms. Fortin joined FTI in September 2010, having previously worked for a “Big 4” accounting firm in Paris.
Since 2006, Ms. Fortin has specialised in the quantification of damages claims in international and domestic commercial disputes, post-transaction disputes, financial and fraud investigations, anti-corruption compliance issues, and other types of forensic accounting assignments. She has assisted French and multinational companies, and leading law firms, in a variety of industry sectors and jurisdictions. She also provides financial and accounting advice to clients in relation to transaction contracts including sale & purchase agreements and completion accounts.
Ms. Fortin’s experience of anti-corruption investigations includes a senior involvement in SEC/DoJ Oil For Food investigations.
Ms. Fortin has assisted clients in contentious matters in various countries around the world including the United States, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and continental Europe. Her experience covers many different industry sectors including automotive, oil & gas, retail, utilities, telecommunications, wines, education, food, materials.
In the context of international disputes, Ms. Fortin has been involved in disputes before the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), and independent experts. She has acted as a testifying expert witness in ICC arbitration. In the context of arbitration, Ms. Fortin has also been involved in disputes in front of the Centre d’Arbitrage et de Médiation de Paris (CMAP).
In the context of domestic disputes, Ms. Fortin has been appointed as expert in commercial litigations in France and has also been involved in many post-transaction disputes.
Ms. Fortin’s career began in London, where she was part of the audit department of Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) for 3 years. She moved to Paris in 1999, where she joined the Transaction Services practice of PwC. She spent 7 years in TS, performing due diligence assignments for both corporate clients and private equity houses.
Ms. Fortin is a graduate of CESEM, Reims Management School and ICADE, Madrid (1996). She qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand and as a French Expert-compatable.
