Keith Kelly is a Managing Director in the FTI Consulting Corporate Finance/Restructuring practice and is based in Charlotte. Mr. Kelly has more than 23 years of experience specializing in operational and financial restructurings and performance improvement initiatives for a variety of industries. His diverse industry experience includes textile; apparel, mining; government contracting; consumer goods; plastics and industrial products manufacturing; agriculture; energy; technology; logistics and distribution; telecommunications and not-for-profit institutions.

Mr. Kelly has extensive experience representing both debtors and creditors in out-of-court restructurings and formal bankruptcy proceedings. He has served as an interim manager, including chief executive officer (CEO) and chief restructuring officer (CRO), and as an advisor to companies and senior lender syndications for complex, multinational corporate restructurings.

In addition, Mr. Kelly has advised in several government contracting related engagements, including matters related to a large scientific, engineering and information technology solutions government contractor; a global marine underwater rescue government contractor; and a global military satellite and telecommunication contractor. He has been an advisor to companies and lenders throughout the global marketplace with specific geographic focus in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean Basin, and Latin America.

Mr. Kelly has served as an interim CEO and CRO for a variety of industries, including mining, manufacturing, retail and distribution. His services have included the development and implementation of turnaround plans; the development and review of business plans, including viability analysis of domestic versus offshore manufacturing; the establishment of offshore manufacturing; the divestiture of noncore business units; the operational analysis of cash conservation and management programs; the restructuring of sales and marketing operations; liquidations; and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Kelly was a partner in the U.S. division of KPMG’s Corporate Recovery practice. He was also a managing director in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Business Recovery Services practice. Mr. Kelly began his career as an exploration geophysicist at Mobil Oil and was also co-founding partner and president of Lovell Capital Management, a financial advisory firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions of manufacturing companies.

Mr. Kelly holds a B.A. in geology from Boston University and has conducted Master of Science studies at Boston University. He is member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association for Corporate Growth, the North Carolina Trade Organization and the Turnaround Management Association. In addition, Mr. Kelly is a board member of the North Carolina Manufacturers Association.
