Since joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Fitzpatrick has managed more than 25 case management matters that ranged from large multi-hospital systems to community hospitals. Some of Ms. Fitzpatrick’s experience includes improving case management processes at a 628-bed teaching hospital and level 1 trauma center and a 141-bed community based facility that resulted in $13 million annual savings in improved contracting; clinical resource management and physician practice management; and assessing case management, patient throughput and emergency services at a three hospital integrated delivery network that was comprised of 1,061-bed major academic and referral center with level 1 trauma status and two large community hospitals, including a 361-bed and 289-bed facilities.

In addition, Ms. Fitzpatrick participated in a comprehensive performance improvement engagement at a 515-bed safety net hospital, with specific emphasis on case management that resulted in the reduced readmission rates for heart failure and, by establishing weaning protocols, decreased ventilator days by 40 percent. Further, she supervised the design and implementation of an entirely new case management department for a 260-bed community hospital, including defining the organizational structure, hiring the staff, developing job descriptions and competencies and developing a case management operational dashboard.
