Mark Rubin is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in New York. Mr. Rubin leads both the Family Enterprise Services practice and the Private Client Tax group in FTI Consulting’s Real Estate Solutions practice. He has more than 30 years of experience advising family offices, family businesses and family foundations in tax advising; transaction support, including sourcing and structuring of capital; and governance planning to individuals and multigenerational families, particularly those with meaningful real estate interests.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Rubin was a founding partner of The Metropolitan Group LLC, where he developed a model for working with families of wealth who own and manage substantial assets, including operating companies, real estate, investments and foundations. Prior to that, Mr. Rubin was a Senior Manager in the tax practice at Price Waterhouse & Co., where he guided Fortune 100, as well as significant family enterprises, in creating and implementing complex tax strategies.

Mr. Rubin has been broadly quoted, authored and interviewed for national, well-respected publications, including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. Much of his leading edge thinking is in his upcoming book, Beneath the Skyline, which focuses on the contributions that real estate families have made to social institutions globally and the impact those contributions have had on the families themselves. Mr. Rubin was a contributor to the “Model Tax Returns” section of Consolidated Tax Returns, by Fred W. Peel. He also has authored a number of articles and has been widely quoted in national publications.

Mr. Rubin is a speaker on topics related to family tax planning and governance and next generation leadership.
