Rasmus Gerdeman is a Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting and is based in Boston. He is also a member of the office of the CFO solutions group in the corporate finance practice of FTI Consulting.

Mr. Gerdeman brings a unique perspective to strategic communications and deep sector expertise in chemicals and materials, agriculture, and natural resources having worked for more than 13 years as a buy-side analyst for these sectors at leading U.S. investment firms.

Mr. Gerdeman provides communications and corporate finance counsel to clients around critical issues impacting their enterprise value and reputation, including positioning, mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and restructuring activities, activist defense, management transitions, and ongoing strategic communications program planning and implementation.

Mr. Gerdeman has worked with a range of companies in the chemicals and materials sector, including as a senior member of the investor relations advisory team for Chemours, FMC Corporation, Cytec Industries, and Innophos Holdings. . He also has advised a number of companies in the natural resources sector, including Freeport McMoRan and Newmont Mining Corporation and Stillwater, among others.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Gerdeman spent more than 13 years as an investor in chemicals and materials and natural resources. He was twice awarded Institutional Investor Magazine’s prestigious "Best of the Buy-Side" for his unparalleled understanding of the industries that he covered and company fundamentals.

Mr. Gerdeman has served as a senior member of the research and investment teams at Neuberger Berman, Northern Trust Global Investors, and Zweig-Dimenna & Associates. He is also a guest lecturer and mentor to Cornell University MBA Cayuga Fund students focusing on basic materials and natural resources.

Mr. Gerdeman holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from North Park University in Chicago, and a Master of Business Administration from S.C Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University and Queen's School of Business at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
