Romain Caillaud is a Senior Director in the Global Risk and Investigations practice of FTI Consulting and is based in Singapore.
Romain provides advice on political, regulatory and partner risks to ensure the compliance, integrity and resilience of his clients’ transactions and operations in Southeast Asia and the wider Asia Pacific region.
Romain has provided counsel to strategic investors, financial institutions, law firms and nonprofit organisations. His engagements have encompassed extractive industries, power and infrastructure projects, telecommunications, media and technology, food & beverage, manufacturing and financial services.
Romain has provided his insights on Myanmar’s current affairs in leading publications and international news channels. He holds a degree in the Burmese language and has acted as the President of the French Myanmar Chamber of Commerce. During his time in the country, Romain established the Yangon office of a Southeast Asia-focused boutique corporate advisory firm specialising in government relations, public policy and political risk analysis..
Whilst studying for a Masters degree in International Affairs at Sciences Po Paris, Romain was also a Parliamentary Assistant in the French Senate as well as an Analyst with the French Embassy in Myanmar, the French Ministry of Defence and the Cambodian Ministry of Justice. He has also been an exchange student at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States and Waseda University in Japan.
In addition to English and his native language French, Romain is conversant in Burmese.
