Ross Blakeley is a Senior Managing Director in the FTI Consulting Corporate Finance/Restructuring practice and is based out of Melbourne, Australia.

With over twenty years’ experience, Mr. Blakeley has a diverse and deep knowledge of corporate restructuring and insolvency gained across a variety of industries. His industry experience includes property and construction, manufacturing and processing, retail, hospitality and business and consumer services.

His formal roles have seen Mr. Blakeley assume control and manage the affairs of a number of entities, both to preserve and operate the business and assets, and ultimately realise them or effect a restructure.

In acting on behalf of both financiers and companies, Mr. Blakeley has also had considerable advisory experience including in strategic workouts, turnaround and restructuring of operational and financial affairs, pre-lending due diligence, investigative reviews, performance monitoring, buyer and vendor due diligence, and debt and capital raisings.

Mr. Blakeley has also worked on secondment in the recovery division of a major bank, where he was responsible for the overall management of a portfolio of underperforming and distressed loans.

Recent roles include:

  • Advising a large debenture issuing entity, with a AU$120 million loan portfolio.
  • Acting as Receiver of Chevron Apartments on behalf of secured creditors owed AU$70 million.
  • Acting as Administrator and Liquidator of Akron Roads Pty Ltd, a large civil works contractor with 140 open contracts and AU$70 million in creditors.
  • Acting as Administrator and Liquidator of Allan's Billy Hyde Group, Australia's largest music retailer.
  • Acting as Receiver and Manager of one of Australia's largest manufacturers and distributor of assistance products for infirmed and disabled people, involving the interim management and ultimate sale of the business.
  • Acting as Receiver of PentridgeVillage, involving a “debt trade” and realisation of a large residential infill site.
  • Acting as liquidator of an entity with a technology holding valued in excess of AU$20 million, which was “asset stripped” to a British Virgin Islands entity, and now the subject of litigation.
  • Reviewing and recommending options for a Golf Club which had sold their previous site and developed a new course
