Scott Javor is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Los Angeles. Mr. Javor is a member of the Telecom, Media and Technology (TMT) practice and FTI Capital Advisors, LLC, an investment banking subsidiary of FTI Consulting. Mr. Javor has more than 15 years of experience in the telecommunications, media, entertainment and technology industries. His experience includes financial and operational restructuring, strategy, performance improvement, operations analysis, interim management, due diligence, business plan analysis, valuation, deal structuring and negotiation.
Mr. Javor has worked with clients across the TMT sectors. Mr. Javor’s experience at FTI Consulting includes financial advisory for both companies and lenders, strategic and operational improvement, merger and acquisition buy- and sell-side advisory, litigation expert witness reports and research into advertising trends across sectors. His experience includes projects for AT&T, BendBroadband, Hickory Tech, Martifer Solar, Relativity Media, Rhythm & Hues, SFX, THQ, Tribune and YP (formerly AT&T Yellow Pages).
Mr. Javor joined FTI Consulting from GE Capital, where he was part of the Leveraged Finance team focusing on the TMT sectors. In this capacity, he underwrote, managed and worked out debt and equity investments. Mr. Javor underwrote and closed senior secured debt transactions totaling almost $1 billion of commitments. He negotiated and executed financial restructurings in the telecom and technology industries. Mr. Javor structured and negotiated securities, term sheets and loan documents directly with companies, lawyers, advisors and other lenders. He led on-site due diligence and developed new strategic business opportunities. Mr. Javor worked on deals for a variety of companies, including Cavalier, FairPoint, Getty Images, Insight Cable, ITC^Deltacom, Otelco, Penton Media, Thomas Nelson and VNU/The Nielsen Company.
Prior to working with the Leveraged Finance team, Mr. Javor was a member of GE’s Corporate Audit staff, a leadership and financial training program. He audited financial statements and improved business processes for GE units in eight countries, including the implementation of new accounting standards across GE Capital. During his tenure, Mr. Javor earned his Black Belt in Six Sigma, a statistics-based methodology to improve processes and eliminate defects.
Mr. Javor holds a B.A. in Economics from Yale University and an M.B.A., with a concentration in Finance, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Javor is a Certified Insolvency Restructuring Advisor, Certified Turnaround Professional and Six Sigma Black Belt, and holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
