Sudhi Rao is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in New York, NY. Mr. Rao is in the Health Solutions practice in the Supply Chain segment. Mr. Rao is a Registered Nurse with 25 years of healthcare services and management experience. He has achieved cost reduction and performance improvement results as Managing Director of consulting services and consultant by leveraging a broad base of professional experience across hospital, integrated delivery networks (IDN) and group purchasing organization environments. His deep industry knowledge and excellent project management skills enable project acceleration.
Mr. Rao’s main focus currently is leading the Operating Theatre Services engagement in academic medical centers and focusing on throughput, developing a platform to address Supply Chain, collaboration with clinicians across Perioperative spectrum.
Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Rao worked with a wide range of healthcare providers, including academic organizations, public hospitals, IDN, and community hospitals, where he managed large cost reduction and redesign projects. Mr. Rao has directed full-scope consulting engagements to provide services (i.e., assessment, design, and implementation) in areas such as GPOs and supplier relationships/services, healthcare materials operations, purchasing, value analysis, productivity measurement; advanced supply delivery programs, management of complex materials management operations, contracting services, purchased services. He redesigned client Supply Chain models to align procurement and contracting activities with cross-functional value analysis under the guidance of comprehensive cost performance metrics.
Prior to beginning his career in supply chain services, Mr. Rao provided productivity and merger integration services at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Before that, he worked in clinical areas as an administrator and clinical coordinator at Continuum Health Partners.
Mr. Rao holds an M.P.A. from Robert Wagner School of Public Service at New York University and a B.S. in nursing from Bangalore University, India. Mr. Rao is a registered nurse and a member of the American Hospital Association of Resource Managers and American Nursing Association.
