Tim Anderson is a Managing Director in the FTI Technology segment based in San Francisco. He has over fifteen years’ experience in legal technology as an application development manager, programmer, systems integrator, and consultant.
Mr. Anderson has served clients in the airline, automobile, biotechnology, entertainment, financial services, pharmaceutical, retail, and technology industries on matters relating to antitrust investigations, intellectual property litigation, and securities litigation. He specializes in developing strategies for the preservation, collection, analysis, review, and production of electronically stored information (ESI) in enterprise data sources ranging from traditional repositories such as email and document management systems, to cloud-based systems like Slack, Box, and Google Apps.
In his current role at FTI, Mr. Anderson is responsible for managing the transformation, import, export and production of data in hundreds of active litigation, internal investigations, and regulatory reviews across the globe. Mr. Anderson manages a team of 35 developers, programmers, and administrators to design, develop, and implement client solutions on time and on budget.
Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Anderson worked as a consultant with Strategic Discovery, Inc. At Strategic Discovery, he was responsible for the development of a structured data analysis practice group to focus on the technical discovery of data from enterprise systems. Mr. Anderson was also responsible for creating, building and leading Strategic Discovery’s Data Processing Team. In this capacity, Mr. Anderson managed a team of several data processing professionals to collect and process for review dozens of Terabytes of data. He also developed data processing workflows and processes still in use today. Mr. Anderson was also a key member of the team responsible for the acquisition and implementation of the Attenex Patterns suite as SDI’s primary data processing platform.
Prior to Strategic Discovery and FTI, Mr. Anderson worked at the law firm of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Mr. Anderson was primarily focused on planning, developing and implementing knowledge management solutions for the firm’s 20+ practice groups. He was also responsible for implementing shared KM applications incorporating email, document management, docketing, and time and billing systems.
Mr. Anderson was also the founding member of Morrison’s Litigation Technology Department responsible for designing, building, and maintaining database technologies to meet the needs of Morrison’s 1,000+ attorneys. In addition to this technical development expertise, he was also responsible for working with attorneys to aggregate and analyze large volumes of complex financial and securities related information for use in securities class action proposals.
