Antoine Mavel leads FTI Consulting’s Canadian operational due diligence (“ODD”), merger integration and carve-outs services. Mr. Mavel has nearly 20 years of M&A experience and has supported more than 200 engagements. He specializes in ODD, sign-to-close and post-close phases of merger integrations and carve-outs deals.
Mr. Mavel advises clients starting from the pre-deal phase with ODD, carve-out standalone costs assessment and synergy analysis, before his role typically expands to cover post-deal activities such as integration management office, transition services agreements and separation execution. In addition, Mr. Mavel has also led a range of performance improvements, cost savings plan and operational turnaround programs with a strong focus on accelerating value creation and transforming portfolio companies owned by private equity clients and pension funds.
Mr. Mavel is expert in in cost reduction, performance improvement, transformation planning, turnaround programs and setting up value creation office in relation to margin improvement. He also has experience in sales org redesign, general and administrative (“G&A”) rationalization, headcount reduction, back-office consolidation, shared services model, footprint rationalization and cost allocation. Mr. Mavel is particularly knowledgeable in the industrials, manufacturing, financial services, logistics, utilities and automotive sectors.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Mavel was an Associate Partner at EY in China, where he led the ODD and Value Creation services. Previously, he spent five years as a Director with KPMG in Canada, where he established and led the firm’s value creation and ODD practice. Mr. Mavel started his career in general management working for a mid-size French manufacturing business, supporting the setup of their first overseas plant in China and focusing on commercial activities and operational improvement.
Relevant Experience:
- Led multiple end-to-end merger integration programs, from synergy due diligence to integration planning and post-close integration execution
- Served on a large number of buyside carve-out engagements to support client with separation due diligence, standalone costs, TSA assessment, ongoing EBITDA impact and one-time costs
- Served on a range of large sell-side and vendor due diligence engagements and transformational opportunities to optimize the sale of corporates and portfolio companies
