About Alex
Alex Le May is a Senior Managing Director and the UK Head of M&A & Activism. Alex works within the Strategic Communications segment and sits across the Special Situations and Industrials teams.
Since joining FTI Consulting in 2013, Alex has supported clients on more than 200 transactions, acting on both buy- and sell-side mandates. He brings a multistakeholder approach to engagements, ensuring the approach works across all key parties, including employees, customers and suppliers, unions, government, investors and the media, amongst others.
In addition to international M&A, Alex has advised clients on confidential activism defences and supports clients with defence preparedness.

- Led on Rio Tinto’s activist defence against Palliser Capital
- Advised Smiths Group on its separation processes and engagement with activist investors
- Advised Wood Group on its possible takeovers by Sidara and Apollo
- Advised DSM on its €41 billion merger with Firmenich
- Advised Meggitt on its contested takeover by Parker Hannifin
- Advised on Atlas Holdings’ take-private of De La Rue
- Advised on Renewi’s recommended acquisition by Macquarie and BCI
- Supported numerous clients on private engagements with significant activist investors, including Elliott
