About Giulio
Giulio Simioni is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Office of the CFO Solutions practice and is based in London.
Giulio supports CFOs and private equity investors on financial planning and analysis, treasury and cash flow, and finance strategy, with further experience spanning business plan evaluations, carve-outs and comprehensive due diligence for leveraged buyouts and debt restructurings. He has extensive expertise leading special projects and serving clients in interim finance leadership roles within portfolio companies.
During his early career, Giulio worked at FTI Consulting as a Senior Consultant. Prior to his return, he was a Senior Vice President with Cerberus Capital Management’s portfolio operations team in London for nearly a decade.
Relevant Experience:
- Drove the implementation of monthly KPI reporting, budgeting and multiyear planning for a receivables management company following its acquisition by a private equity sponsor; engaged with prospective lenders to secure new financing, worked with management and the board of directors to sell non-core business units, implemented a corporate reorganisation and executed a cost-out programme
- Served as Chief of Staff to CFO and interim Group Controller for a B2B distribution business that was carved-out from its U.S. parent; managed a restructuring programme involving eight business units and 15 countries; led the sale-leaseback of three distribution centres and performed a strategic review that led to the sale of the retail channel across four geographies
- Reviewed an Italian airline’s cost structure and profitability by business unit; assessed potential improvement initiatives and analysed the market and competitive landscape
- Conducted due diligence and developed a carve-out plan for the retail operations of a large international bank; included assessment of the support function separation, Day-One gaps, longer-term rationalisation opportunities and definition of preliminary integration plan
- Reviewed and assessed servicing operations and portfolio management across 10 European markets in conjunction with the acquisition of a large nonperforming loan (‘NPL’) portfolio
- Supported a distressed multinational automotive components business’ senior management in short-term cash management, net working capital improvement and cost rationalisation programme
- Analysed product life cycle and profitability in connection with the acquisition of an Italian motorcycle manufacturer by a German automotive group
