Matt O’Keefe helps companies and their stakeholders navigate financial, strategic and operational challenges. Matt works with boards, management teams, lenders, private equity, private capital and other stakeholders to deliver effective solutions in complex and high-stakes situations.

Matt has advised on both formal and informal engagements across a wide range of industries, including aviation, gaming and entertainment, media, retail, mining, energy, transport, manufacturing, property and finance.

Matt is recognised for his ability to partner closely with organisations to design and implement operational and financial strategies that enhance performance and create long-term value, and regularly advises and manages complex, distressed situations with multiple stakeholders.

Matt brings extensive expertise in financial, treasury and working capital management, having steered companies through critical liquidity periods. Notably, he led the Global Treasury function of the Arrium Group of Companies during its voluntary administration, overseeing liquidity and working capital at one of Australia’s largest corporate restructurings.

• Arrium – Responsible for Arrium’s Group Treasury function, liquidity and working capital management during Australia’s largest Voluntary Administration
• Boart Longyear – Preparation of the independent expert report and the Scheme Administration of this global mining services company
• Autocare – Voluntary Administration of a major ‘shore-to-door’ motor vehicle logistics business that formed part of the LINX Cargo Care Group
• Virgin Australia – Buy-side advisory for the successful acquisition of Australia’s second largest domestic airline
• One Rail Australia – Supported the divestment of One Rail Australia from Aurizon in accordance with an ACCC Enforceable Undertaking
• Nickelodeon Australia – Managed the solvent wind down of the Nickelodeon Australia joint venture between Foxtel and Paramount
