About Sanjeev
Sanjeev Bahl is a testifying expert in FTI Consulting’s Economic & Financial Consulting segment. Sanjeev specialises in the quantification of losses and the valuation of assets across the global energy sector. He has been appointed by state parties, integrated oil majors and has prepared expert reports in high-value international arbitrations under the International Arbitration Centre (“ICC”), the London Court of Arbitration (“LCIA”), the United Nations Commission on Internation Trade Law (“UNCITRAL”) and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (“SIAC”) rules and cases administered by the Permanent Court of Arbitration (“PCA”), including several matters with claimed quantum in excess of $1 billion.
Sanjeev’s opinions on value draw on both technical and financial expertise, built over more than 25 years across four complementary areas, including upstream engineering at ExxonMobil, which allows him to engage critically with reserve and resource evaluations, development plans, production profiles and costs. Further, he spent ten years valuing oil and gas companies and assets in investment banking and equity research at Credit Suisse and Numis (now part of Deutsche Bank). He is experienced in developing commodity supply and demand models and oil and gas price forecasts. In consulting, he performed commercial due diligence for private equity investors at Edison Group and FTI Consulting.
During Sanjeev’s career, he has valued companies and assets across the full energy value chain, including upstream, downstream, services and industrials, in more than 35 countries. His expertise extends to emerging sectors such as offshore wind, hydrogen and carbon capture, utilisation and storage (“CCUS”), and he is recognised in the Lexology Index: Energy.
Sanjeev holds an M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering with First-Class Honours from University College London. He completed an executive programme at London Business School, covering financial reporting, accounting, strategy and marketing. Sanjeev is also trained in upstream profitability analysis at the ExxonMobil Upstream Research Center in Houston.
