About Steven
Steven Simms is the Global Vice Chairman of FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance segment and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. In this role, Mr. Simms helps shape the firm’s strategy and global integration of the Corporate Finance business and its various offerings worldwide.
Mr. Simms has more than 30 years of experience advising companies, creditor committees, lenders and investors on some of the most complex financial, operational and strategic challenges facing organizations. His expertise spans financial restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, strategic planning and business valuation across industries including retail, consumer products, energy, hospitality and manufacturing.
Prior to his appointment as Global Vice Chairman, Mr. Simms held key senior positions within FTI Consulting, including Global Leader of Turnaround & Restructuring, and Leader of the Creditor Rights practice, where he was instrumental in cementing the firm’s position as an internationally recognized premier turnaround and restructuring advisor, by building deep client relationships and leading high-profile creditor and debtor assignments.

Before joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Simms was a Managing Director in the Ernst & Young Corporate Finance practice and earlier served in the Middle Market Banking Division of a major New York money-center bank, where he provided acquisition, recapitalization and working capital financing solutions to middle-market companies. Mr. Simms is a Certified Turnaround Professional (“CTP”) and brings a unique blend of financial advisory and operational insight to his work. He previously held NASD (FINRA) Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
